MTA has launched the Aries N Deep Freezing (ASN DF), a packaged screw compressor chiller designed to deliver leaving fluid temperatures down to -30°C (-22°F). The units use R290 refrigerant, which has zero global warming potential (GWP) and does not deplete the ozone layer.
The range is designed for low-temperature applications in food and beverage, refrigerated warehouses, and the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. It comprises seven sizes in single- and dual-circuit configurations, with capacities up to 360 kW (approx. 102 tons of refrigeration).
Each circuit features one variable frequency drive (VFD) screw compressor. The units also incorporate a microchannel condenser and a brazed plate heat exchanger (BPHE) evaporator.
The operating map covers leaving fluid temperatures from -12°C to -30°C (10.4°F to -22°F) and ambient conditions from -20°C to +46°C (-4°F to 114.8°F). The range is SEPR-LT compliant, meeting applicable seasonal efficiency requirements for low-temperature applications.
For operation with R290, the units include SDS2E safety features comprising a Segregation box, Leak Detector, Stop, Signal and Gas Expulsion Fan. The packaged range is positioned as a factory-engineered alternative to bespoke NH3 or CO2 solutions.
