CAREL has extended its range of local supervisors with the addition of boss micro
CAREL has extended its range of local supervisors with the addition of boss micro, a new format that completes the boss range and enhances its offering of local monitoring systems. The new supervisor is the ideal solution for applications such as edge data centres, c-stores and petrol stations, with a limited number of units yet that still require the same user experience and advanced system management functions.

boss micro guarantees all the advantages of the range, above all extensive connectivity. In close synergy with CAREL’s digitalisation strategy, the new local supervisor natively integrates various communication channels to centralised data collection platforms. Enabling analytics and preventive logics to optimise performance is thus immediate and adaptable to any system. There are in fact four different hardware versions so as to offer a flexible solution that adapts to all needs, integrating a WI-FI hotspot and a 4G modem for easy local and/or remote access without requiring any additional infrastructure. Furthermore, like the other supervisors in the boss range, boss micro also implements the highest cyber-security standards to ensure controlled and secure access to the information at all times, as well as undergoing a periodic security assessment, performed by outside organisations.

The other main benefit of being part of the boss family is the extremely intuitive and user-friendly interface, ensuring simple and immediate interaction with the system for all users. The intuitive interface - fully compatible with mobile devices and fully customisable - is indeed one of the main strengths of the entire range, representing the perfect tool for installers or shop owners to keep their system under control. boss micro is not a simple gateway, but rather an edge device in its own right, because in addition to connecting the field devices it provides local processing, storing and displaying data as trends, as well as on intuitive and easy-to-navigate responsive web pages for all devices, even smartphones.

Finally, the wide choice of additional software components means the boss micro supervisor can optimise system performance in many air conditioning and refrigeration applications: from the development of networks of micro data centre infrastructures connected to remote monitoring systems, to management of compressor rack suction pressure and dashboards of performance indices. Also worth highlighting is how integration with third-party devices and integration into BMS systems using the most common protocols in HVAC/R guarantees complete management of the system even when using multi-brand equipment.
