Carrier is introducing its AquaSnap 30AWH-P monoblock air-to-water heat pump to European customers, an innovative and sustainable product with ultra-low global warming potential (GWP) R290 natural refrigerant. Among several notable features of this European-made heat pump are its extremely quiet operation and very compact footprint to suit small spaces, including balconies.

"In the development of our AquaSnap 30AWH-P reversible air-to-water heat pump, we focused on adding several key features that provide important benefits to installers and end users," said Thuy Hoang, Product Manager Heat Pumps, Global Comfort Solutions Europe, Carrier. "The result is a highly sustainable, compact and quiet product that provides improved heating and cooling performance in both residential and light commercial applications."

The AquaSnap 30AWH-P with R290 refrigerant is an environmentally-responsible choice that allows a 99.9% reduction in GHG emissions compared to heat pumps using traditional refrigerants, such as R410A. Propane is also a highly energy-efficient natural gas, which requires less energy to achieve the same cooling or heating capacity compared to traditional synthetic gases. This is confirmed by the high SCOP up to 4.82 and SEER up to 5.34 in all models of the range, for reduced energy bills.

For installers, an important benefit of the AquaSnap 30AWH-P is easier handling due to reduced weight (starting from just 78 kg) and compact dimensions, such as a width of only 946 mm. The simple monoblock design with its outdoor unit containing all components and an enhanced layout and structure for easy access and straightforward connections provides easy installation. Carrier’s dedicated service app, BluEdge service app, is available to assist commissioning, diagnostics and troubleshooting.

End users benefit from an extremely quiet operation equivalent to the rustle of leaves. If required, users can reduce this even further by activating the unit’s silent mode. Thanks to high leaving water temperature up to 75 C, customers enjoy year-round comfort levels.

Carrier’s AquaSnap 30AWH-P heat pumps offer compatibility with low to medium-temperature emitters (underfloor heating, fan coil units, hydronic cassettes, radiators and mixed installations) and high-temperature emitters for renovations (boiler replacement). It is also possible to deploy the heat pump in hybrid systems. The series extends from 4 to 14kW covering single-phase (4-14kW) and three-phase (12-14kW) models.
