Daikin to Launch Energy-Saving ‘Ururu Sarara X’ Room Air Conditioners in Japan

Daikin Industries will release its new room air conditioner series, Ururu Sarara X (R Series), on November 1, 2025, in Japan. The models focus on improving energy efficiency during both high-power start-up and stable long-duration operation, which accounts for around 80% of total run time. The new units offer high energy-saving performance, particularly in the 4.0 kW (for approx. 14-tatami rooms) and 5.6 kW (for approx. 18-tatami rooms) classes.

As summer air conditioner usage has nearly doubled in recent years, rising electricity costs have increased the demand for both comfort and greater efficiency. To address this, Daikin has enhanced the outdoor unit’s heat exchanger and compressor to achieve top-tier Annual Performance Factor (APF) ratings—APF 7.3 for 4.0 kW units and APF 6.6 for 5.6 kW units.

The new models feature two key control systems: Premium PIT Control, which reduces power consumption during stable operation by minimizing compressor cycling, and Eco Boost Control, which reduces power usage during startup by up to 5% for cooling and 8% for heating without compromising comfort.

Additionally, a new function called Extreme Heat Speed Airflow rapidly lowers indoor temperatures during startup when outdoor temperatures exceed 35°C. This new airflow system shortens the time to reach the set temperature by approximately 17% compared to previous models.

Other continued features include Tough Cooling, which maintains performance in outdoor temperatures up to 50°C, and Room Temperature Patrol, which automatically activates cooling or heating based on preset indoor conditions even when the unit is off.

The Ururu Sarara X (R Series) will be available in multiple models ranging from 2.2 kW to 9.0 kW, suitable for spaces from 6 to 29 tatami mats. The products will be sold at open pricing.
