G&D Chillers has introduced the Elite 290 Microseries, an expansion of its propane-based Elite 290 line launched earlier this year. The company, which has supplied chillers for brewing, wine, dairy, cannabis, and industrial applications for over 30 years, emphasizes sustainability with this latest development.
The Elite 290 Microseries is designed for compact spaces and features variable-speed fans for stable performance in all weather conditions, particularly in cold environments. The vertical fan venting improves efficiency and makes installation easier in confined areas. Additionally, the removal of mechanical switches reduces wear, extends system longevity, and results in quieter operation with a wider fluid temperature range for precise cooling.
“Our customers’ needs are always informing the types of chillers we build, and we’re really excited to offer our most versatile chiller yet featuring future-proof R290 refrigerant,” said Justin Thomas, president of G&D Chillers.
Propane (R290) is a natural refrigerant with near-zero Global Warming Potential (GWP) and high efficiency, making it an environmentally friendly alternative to hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) refrigerants. Unlike HFCs, propane is exempt from phase-out regulations, ensuring long-term compliance with sustainability initiatives.
Widely adopted in Europe and the U.K., propane refrigeration is gaining traction in North America, with G&D Chillers leading the transition. The Elite 290 Microseries provides industries such as brewing, wine, dairy, and biogas with a low-impact, energy-efficient cooling solution designed to meet future environmental standards.
By continuing to develop propane-based refrigeration solutions, G&D Chillers reinforces its commitment to sustainability and efficiency in industrial cooling applications.
