Secop has introduced its NLE Plus refrigeration compressor series for R290 propane applications. The series is available in 11, 13, 14, and 15 cm³ (0.67, 0.79, 0.85, and 0.92 in³) displacements and expands the N-Series with propane models in 14 and 15 cm³ (0.85 and 0.92 in³).
The compressors are designed as compact, powerful, and efficient units for food service and food retail applications. Stated uses include supermarket refrigerators and freezers, stainless steel refrigerators and freezers, double glass door merchandizers, and related equipment.
For low back pressure operation, the compressors cover evaporating temperatures from -40°C to -5°C (-40°F to 23°F), with a cooling capacity of approx. 775 W (approx. 2,644 BTU/h) for the NLE15LNDX at ASHRAE LBP. For medium back pressure operation, they cover evaporating temperatures from -25°C to +7.5°C (-13°F to 45.5°F), with a cooling capacity of 1137 W (approx. 3,880 BTU/h) for the NLE13MNDX at ASHRAE MBP.
The NLE Plus series includes a patented hermetic plug for enhanced Fusite protection and extended lifespan. Secop also lists newly integrated electrical components for easy installation, including an integrated relay, start and run capacitor, PTC, and NTC to help reduce peak currents and voltage spikes.
The compressors are designed for improved robustness against liquid return, increased stability during hot gas defrosting, and improved noise and vibration reduction compared with similar products. Secop states that the compressors are suitable for applications designed according to IEC 60335-2-89:2022 approvals for HC refrigerant charges from 150 g to 500 g (5.3 oz to 17.6 oz) in commercial refrigeration systems.
The listed NLE Plus models are NLE11MNDX (105H7103), NLE13LNDX (105H7301), NLE13MNDX (105H7302), NLE14LNDX (105H7402), and NLE15LNDX (105H7500). All are specified for 220–240 V, 50 Hz operation with high starting torque.
