Starfrost Launches Hybrid Tunnel Freezer for IQF Processing

Starfrost has launched a new Hybrid Tunnel Freezer for Individual Quick Freezing (IQF), updating the model with changes in design, performance and hygiene while maintaining energy efficiency.

The freezer has a more compact design and delivers up to 60% more production capacity than its predecessor. Starfrost says the system can freeze or chill a wide range of food products, including raw minced meat, seafood and cooked proteins.

The increased capacity is achieved through the addition of two extra conveyor belts. According to the company, the redesigned model improves throughput without increasing energy consumption or footprint compared with the previous model.

The freezer uses a multi-belt conveyor system that crust-freezes products before full freezing. Starfrost says this helps retain product shape, structure and appearance, supports smoother transfer between belts, promotes product agitation and reduces clumping.

The system is delivered as a pre-assembled package and can be fully operational within one week of delivery. Its clean-by-design approach includes smooth surfaces and high-grade components to simplify cleaning and support hygiene compliance in food processing environments.

“We are committed to the ongoing innovation of our products and services, always focused on delivering the latest technological advancements to our customers. As technology evolves, so do we. Our mission is to continuously improve, and with that, our solutions evolve to meet the highest standards. Our new Hybrid Tunnel Freezer is a perfect example of this evolution—offering enhanced design and performance with key improvements in hygiene and energy efficiency. We are excited to launch this new model to the market and continue providing cutting-edge IQF solutions to our global customer base,” said Robert Long, Managing Director at Starfrost.
