STULZ introduces CyberAir 3PRO DX GE4(S) with low-GWP R454C refrigerant

STULZ has announced the release of its new CyberAir 3PRO DX GE4(S) precision air conditioning range, designed for use in data centres. The systems use R454C refrigerant, aligning with the EU’s F-Gas Regulation 2024/573 to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Available in three sizes with cooling capacities from 24 kW to 71 kW, the CyberAir 3PRO DX GE4(S) range supports indirect free cooling and can be customized with a variety of equipment options. STULZ has configured the systems to operate with A2L-classified R454C, which has a global warming potential (GWP) of 148 and meets the latest EU regulations targeting a phase-down of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs).

The systems feature an internal safety concept tailored for use with low-GWP refrigerants. The refrigeration circuit is designed to be permanently leakproof, and the unit includes two explosion-proof gas sensors that monitor refrigerant concentration. If elevated levels are detected, the system shuts down all electrical components except the fans and issues an alarm.

The CyberAir 3PRO DX GE4(S) is equipped with the E² control system, which has been optimized for the new range. It includes a touchscreen interface and supports protocols such as Modbus RTU, BACnet IP, BACnet MS/TP, HTTP and SNMP, facilitating integration with building management systems. Functions include device detection, access control, event and trend recording, and emergency operation.

"R454C offers extensive advantages over other commonly used refrigerants," said Sebastian Maron, senior product manager room cooling at STULZ. "We are delighted to be able to offer customers maximum investment security and support the reduction of the CO2 footprint in data centre cooling through innovative design and sustainable development."
