Sub-Zero launches 15-inch undercounter ice maker

Sub-Zero Group, Inc. has launched the Designer Undercounter 15" Ice Maker for home use, a panel-ready model designed for indoor and outdoor installations. The company says the unit produces crystal-clear ice, operates near silently, and is engineered for up to 20 years of performance.

The ice maker produces 1.25" (3.2 cm) crystal-clear, flavorless cubes and has a production capacity of 65 pounds (29.5 kg) of ice per day, with 25 pounds (11.3 kg) of storage. It uses an ultrasonic sensor to measure ice levels and a patented ice distribution system to reduce uneven ice levels and maximize usable storage.

Sub-Zero says the model includes a guided two-step cleaning system, an accessible cleaning drawer, and a floor light that shows cleaning progress without opening the door. Wi-Fi alerts notify users when cleaning or sanitizing is needed, and the cleaning process can be monitored through the Sub-Zero Owner's App.

The unit includes MaxQuiet™ Technology, Wi-Fi controls for starting or stopping ice making, setting adjustments, and service alerts. Design features include integrated hinges, panel-ready installation, non-pump and pump models, an outdoor-rated stainless-steel panel with pro handle for outdoor installation, and leak detection that can shut the unit down and notify the user through an alarm and the Owner's App.

"At Sub-Zero, we believe the best innovations begin by listening to consumers," said Jim Bakke, President and CEO of Sub-Zero Group, Inc. "This ice maker directly solves the frustrations we heard most often, delivering quiet, dependable performance in a beautifully integrated design."
