Viessmann unveils Vitocal 200-A heat pump in Germany

Viessmann Climate Solutions has unveiled the Vitocal 200-A intelligent energy, a monoblock air-to-water heat pump developed and manufactured in Europe. The company is also launching One Base Intelligence, an upgrade to the Viessmann One Base platform that connects products, energy flows and extensions.

The new heat pump covers an output range of 4 to 12 kW (approx. 13,650 to 40,950 BTU/h) and achieves flow temperatures of up to 75 °C (167 °F), making it suitable for use with existing radiators. It uses the natural refrigerant R290 and is intended for typical applications in single-family and two-family homes.

Viessmann said the new generation is designed for easier handling, lower complexity and simpler transport. The outdoor units fit on a Euro pallet and weigh about 100 kg (approx. 220 lb). Configured indoor units in different versions are intended to simplify planning and installation, while key hydraulic components are integrated into the outdoor unit.

The Universal Controller intelligent energy can be used as a heat pump controller for the Vitocal 200-A intelligent energy with flexible on-site hydraulic connections. It can also operate independently of the heat pump as a control component for Viessmann Energy Management, including the integration of a third-party photovoltaic system.

The Vitocal 200-A intelligent energy has received the iF Design Award. Its enclosed grille conceals technical components and the noise-optimized fan.

“The energy transition is decided in the boiler room—and on the construction site. With the Vitocal 200-A ie, we are providing installers with a heat pump that supports our vision of bringing intelligent energy to every household: its strengths include an excellent balance of price and performance, as well as enhanced ease of installation, all in the familiar Viessmann premium design,” says Dr. Conrad Wiedeler, Managing Director of Viessmann Deutschland GmbH.
