Williams Refrigeration launches Medi+ range for medical storage

Williams Refrigeration has introduced its Medi+ range of refrigeration units, developed to meet the specific demands of medical and laboratory environments. The new product line is designed for the safe storage of temperature-sensitive materials such as pharmaceuticals, vaccines, and laboratory samples.

The Medi+ series includes 17 models, ranging from undercounter units to upright and slimline cabinets. Each unit is available with either solid or glass doors, allowing users to select configurations based on space and application requirements. The range is intended for use in hospitals, laboratories, pharmacies, care homes, veterinary practices, and other clinical settings.

Constructed with a stainless steel exterior and aluminium interior, Medi+ cabinets are built for durability and hygiene. Features include internal LED lighting, polyurethane insulation with low Global Warming Potential (GWP), and magnetic balloon door gaskets to ensure a tight seal and enhance energy efficiency. The range uses natural hydrocarbon refrigerants with low GWP and zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP).

The integrated Medi+ Controller provides precise temperature control and monitoring. It features a digital display, maximum/minimum temperature memory, and audio-visual alarms for high/low temperature and open doors. The system includes condenser cleaning alerts and supports Modbus network data connection for integration with third-party monitoring systems.

Additional options include glass or solid doors, nylon-coated wire shelving, and perforated steel shelves. All models are engineered to operate in ambient temperatures up to 43°C.

Defrost water is automatically vaporised using recycled heat from the compressor, and helium leak testing is used to ensure system performance. Heavy-duty swivel castors with brakes facilitate mobility and maintenance access.
