Sixteen technicians and trainers from Brazil's refrigeration and air conditioning sector recently completed a two-week training program in Maintal, Germany, focusing on the handling of natural refrigerants. The training, known as Cool Training, included both theoretical and practical sessions on refrigerants such as Carbon Dioxide, Ammonia, and Propane.

The participants, all of whom are instructors in Brazil, had the opportunity to deepen their expertise and network with fellow trainers. The training was organized by the Brazilian Program for the Elimination of HCFCs (PBH), coordinated by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) through the Proklima cluster. It was conducted at the Bundesfachschule Kälte-Klima-Technik (BFS) in Maintal, near Frankfurt.

According to the participants, the training provided invaluable learning experiences. Luana Ribeiro Orlandini from IFBA remarked on the quality of the training, noting the blend of theory and hands-on practice over the two weeks. Caio Alexandre Evangelista from SENAI-MG, with 36 years of experience in refrigeration, expressed that such opportunities are vital for continuous growth in the field.

Reiner Meyers, an international specialist and trainer at BFS since 2009, highlighted the value of hosting students from various parts of the world, emphasizing the sharing of knowledge and resolution of doubts during the training. Danilo Mendes Pereira from SENAI-TO reflected on the encouragement and wisdom shared by Professor Reiner, which he found particularly impactful.

Participants appreciated the comprehensive learning environment, benefiting not only from formal classes but also from informal discussions during leisure time. This experience has equipped them to bring new knowledge and techniques back to their students in Brazil.
