Chillventa 2024: Industry Experts Gathered on Refrigeration Innovation

The highly anticipated Chillventa 2024, held in Nuremberg, brought together 1,010 exhibitors from 49 countries and over 33,000 trade visitors, marking it a resounding success. This year’s theme, "Connecting Experts," fostered rich dialogue and showcased innovations in refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, and heat pump technologies. The event’s comprehensive program, featuring more than 250 presentations, two major special exhibitions, and numerous interactive forums, addressed key issues such as sustainability, digitalization, and the circular economy.

The pre-event Chillventa CONGRESS also attracted 300 attendees who benefitted from high-level presentations by international experts on topics such as energy transition, digitalization in HVAC systems, and low-GWP refrigerants. This blend of cutting-edge exhibits and knowledge-sharing reaffirmed Chillventa’s status as the premier trade fair for the refrigeration sector.

Global Audience and Industry Influence

The event attracted a diverse, global audience, with around 57% of visitors traveling from outside Germany. Over 80% of attendees were directly involved in purchasing decisions, underscoring the event’s influence on the industry. The positive feedback from attendees and exhibitors alike reflects Chillventa’s relevance and its role as a catalyst for industry connections and developments. Many exhibitors, hailing from Germany, Italy, China, and the USA, have already confirmed their participation in the 2026 event, indicating Chillventa's unmatched value to industry stakeholders.

Expanded Program: Meeting Industry Needs with Specialist Insights

Chillventa’s extensive program catered to the needs of industry professionals, with presentations and forums on refrigerants, F-gas regulations, heat pump applications, and other emerging trends. A special “Practical Guide to Digitization” forum offered insights into digital solutions for skilled trades, while the “AIT Heat Pump Innovation Lounge” explored advancements in heat pump technology, a growing area of interest given current energy transition goals. Additionally, a dedicated exhibition by the German Federal College of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology provided practical demonstrations on leak detection and tightness testing.

The German Championship for Refrigeration Technicians, organized by the Federation of German Refrigeration Plant Assemblers (BIV), celebrated the next generation of talent in the field, adding a competitive and educational edge to the event.

Looking Forward: European Heat Pump Summit 2025

The next event on the HVAC calendar is the European Heat Pump Summit, set for October 28-29, 2025, at the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre. The summit will continue the discussions on heat pump advancements and sustainability initiated at Chillventa, further supporting the industry’s transition to more efficient and eco-friendly solutions.
