GCCA hosts 10th Brazilian Cold Chain Congress in São Paulo

The Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA) Brazil held the 10th Brazilian Cold Chain Congress on June 11–12 in São Paulo, gathering over 140 professionals from the refrigerated logistics sector. The event focused on the future of cold chain logistics in Brazil, addressing key themes such as regulation, sustainability, artificial intelligence, and market trends.

Held under the theme “The Future of Cold Chain Logistics: A Vision for the Next 10 Years,” the Congress featured presentations and panels with industry executives, government officials, and technical experts from Brazil and abroad. The program included sessions on regulatory developments affecting food storage, technological applications in retail and foodservice, and environmental strategies to reduce waste.

A panel on animal health and regulatory updates featured representatives from the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture and private sector stakeholders, discussing the impacts of Avian Influenza and new compliance measures. Other sessions explored AI in retail, high-performance infrastructure, and ESG initiatives, with a presentation by Rosana Blasio on environmental and social responsibility in the cold chain.

Executives from Superfrio, Emergent Cold LatAm, BRF, Tirol, and Bem Brasil addressed market consolidation, mergers, and partnerships in logistics. The event also included the “Cold Chain Café,” where participants engaged in roundtable discussions on operational challenges and practical solutions.

The final panel featured representatives from Arfrio, Friozem, Brasfrigo, and Movecta, who discussed current operational bottlenecks and the transformations required to adapt to rising demands in exports, imports, and domestic distribution.

“The 10th edition of our Congress reflects not only the strength of our industry but also GCCA’s commitment to fostering knowledge, networking, and especially influencing public policies to drive sustainable development for the cold chain in Brazil,” said Isabela Perazza, Director of GCCA Brazil.
