At the 36th Meeting of the Parties (MOP 36) to the Montreal Protocol in Bangkok, the tenth edition of the International Special Issue (ISI) by Industria & Formazione was unveiled. This significant publication, produced by Centro Studi Galileo in collaboration with the United Nations and prominent industry leaders, features expert contributions from global figures in the refrigeration, air conditioning, and heat pump (RACHP) sectors. The articles explore the future of the industry, its evolving technology, and its impact on energy, the environment, and climate change.
The Italian Ambassador to Thailand, Paolo Dionisi, praised the initiative at the event. The foreword was co-authored by Italy’s Minister of Environment and Energy Safety, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, adding further prestige to the project.
Launched in 2006, this biennial publication is made possible through the joint efforts of UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme), IIR (International Institute of Refrigeration), AREA (European Association of RAC Technicians), and Centro Studi Galileo, supported by Italy’s Ministry of Environment and Energy Safety. The 2024 edition, themed “Empowering RACHP Workforce for the Future Transition,” features 24 articles contributed by major global associations such as AREA, AHRI, ASHRAE, ISHRAE, EPEE, FAIAR, and U-3ARC, as well as experts from regions including China, Australia, and Tunisia.

The ISI is distributed by the United Nations and the IIR at international summits and meetings, reaching Heads of State from the 190 countries that are signatories to the Montreal Protocol. Following its presentation at Chillventa 2024, the edition will also be distributed at COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan. The publication aims to inform and guide global discussions, supporting the transition to more sustainable and inclusive practices in the RACHP industry.
