The activities and resources of the International Institute of Refrigeration

The International Institute of Refrigeration represents the global refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump industries with the aim of promoting knowledge on all refrigeration technologies and uses.

Based in Paris, the IIR is an Intergovernmental science and technology based organization, with 59 member countries and almost 1,000 corporate and private members.

The Institute of Refrigeration Ireland became a member in 2020 and is now very pleased to host a web presentation by the IIR Director General Mr. Didier Coulomb.

 

The presentation will include:

  • What the IIR does

  • Publications – Newsletter, Journal, position papers

  • Events - International Congress of Refrigeration

  • Activities supporting the refrigeration industry

  • Activities supporting academic study and research

  • The IRI FRIDOC database – the most comprehensive scientific refrigeration database in the world

  • Press releases and policy briefings

  • Collaboration on international projects

  • Working groups – what they do and how to take part

  • Informatory Notes (e.g. Solar Cooling, Evaporative Cooling, Heat Pumps, etc.)

  • Submitting a paper to the IIR for publication


The presentation will be of interest to refrigeration and air conditioning engineers, designers, technical personnel, third-level engineering students and departments, the food and pharmaceutical industries This webinar is free to attend to all IRI members and interested parties.
