Nordic Climate Group has expanded in Ireland and the UK through the acquisitions of Northern Refrigeration Services and Meridian Cooling Ltd. Both companies will continue to operate under their existing brands and leadership.
County Donegal-based Northern Refrigeration Services specialises in refrigeration, heat pumps and heating solutions. Founded in 1965 and led by Gerald McGloin since 1997, the company employs nine people and serves commercial and domestic customers, including hotels, data centres, pubs, factories, warehouses and residential properties.
The company provides installation, service and maintenance work, along with large-scale projects, heat pump installations and residential developments. Nordic Climate Group said the acquisition strengthens its position in north-west Ireland and creates opportunities for collaboration with its existing Anglo-Irish Refrigeration business.
Meridian Cooling, based in Poole, provides heating, cooling and energy-efficient climate solutions for commercial and residential properties. Founded in 2005, the company employs more than 30 people and serves customers across the South of England and nationally in sectors including retail, healthcare, manufacturing, hospitality and high-end residential developments.
Meridian Cooling’s work includes installation, service and maintenance, with projects covering heating and hot water systems for apartment developments, retail climate control, wine cellar cooling and swimming pool dehumidification. Nordic Climate Group said the acquisition strengthens its position in the South of England.
