Softbox acquires TP3 Global

Softbox, a leading global innovator and provider of cold chain packaging systems for the pharmaceutical industry, announces the acquisition of TP3 Global, manufacturers of the globally recognised ‘SilverSkin’ brand. TP3 Global is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of thermal protection covers for the pharmaceutical industry, with operations in the Americas, EMEA, South Asia and Asia Pacific.

The combined portfolio of industry-leading passive temperature control packaging systems and thermal protection products will reinforce both companies’ ability to support their customers’ requirements for cold chain packaging solutions, and further expand ability to provide critical technical support on a global basis.

Wayne Langlois, President of Softbox, commented: “I’m extremely proud to welcome TP3 Global to the Softbox family. Our combined capabilities, client relationships, geographic coverage and commitment to innovation, can only strengthen our customer support of temperature controlled distribution. TP3 Global brings a wealth of knowledge and technical expertise from within the thermal protection and logistics industries, and will enable us to provide our customers with a differentiated offering in the temperature controlled packaging market.”

Clive Wheeldon, President of TP3 Global, commented: “The strong cultural fit, complementary products and the potential of combining the outstanding technical capabilities of each company made the decision to join Softbox the next logical step in the development of TP3 Global. The combined global footprint is unrivalled within the temperature controlled packaging industry, enabling us to provide unsurpassed levels of product availability on a local basis worldwide.

“For our customers, the message is very much business as usual, with the same key contacts simply enhancing our ability to provide increased temperature sensitive product protection wherever they need it.”

Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for Modular Refrigeration Systems in Life Sciences Distribution Centers

by Ramez Naguib, P.E. Introduction Life sciences distribution centers are under immense pressure to deliver consistent temperature control, comply with increasingly stringent regulations, and optimize operational efficiency. Traditional built-up refrigeration systems often prove cumbersome, costly, and slow to implement. In contrast, modular, factory-assembled refrigeration systems have emerged as a compelling alternative. Drawing on lessons from
