Williams introduces multi-temperature Chef’s Drawers for kitchens

Williams has introduced multi-temperature versions of its Chef’s Drawers, allowing operators to adjust storage conditions between +4°C and -22°C. The update follows the launch of the company’s Jade MultiTemp range and is designed to provide more flexible temperature control for different food products in commercial kitchens.

Chef’s Drawers are individual refrigerated units made entirely of stainless steel and intended for installation close to food preparation areas, such as chef’s stations. The units are designed to operate in ambient temperatures of up to 43°C and can be installed in compact spaces. They can also be stacked, with a total height starting from 838 mm (33 in), enabling installation under a 900 mm (35.4 in) worktop.

The adjustable temperature range allows operators to store different ingredients under appropriate conditions. For example, meat can be stored between -2°C and +2°C, while frozen products are typically kept at -22°C. Ice cream may require temperatures as high as -10°C depending on storage requirements.

The range includes two models. The VRWCD1 has a rear-mounted refrigeration system and measures 880 mm (34.6 in) in width and 850 mm (33.5 in) in depth. The VSWCD1 features a side-mounted refrigeration system, with dimensions of 1100 mm (43.3 in) in width and 670 mm (26.4 in) in depth. Stacked configurations are available for both models.

The drawers accommodate 2/1 GN pans with a maximum depth of 150 mm (5.9 in). Removable drawers and fittings are designed to facilitate cleaning. The units are fitted with swivel and brake castors for positioning and mobility, with different castor sizes available, as well as an option for adjustable legs to match installation requirements.

“Multi-temperature functionality gives chefs even more choice and control over food storage,” said Malcolm Harling, sales and marketing director of Williams.
