Eurovent has joined the ECO Platform as a new member, reinforcing its commitment to climate action and resource efficiency in the building and construction sectors.
The ECO Platform is a European alliance that promotes Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and life-cycle data for building products. It welcomed Eurovent’s membership as a contribution to its goal of improving the credibility and availability of environmental data. Eurovent represents over 1,000 organisations across Europe, including manufacturers of air conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration, and building automation equipment.
According to Eurovent Deputy Secretary General Stijn Renneboog: “As other industries in the construction ecosystem, manufacturers of HVACR equipment provide data on the environmental performance of their products. We are eager to join the ECO Platform to support our common mission to provide credible and reliable environmental data in an affordable and effective way, eliminating barriers to trade and pushing for harmonisation.”
Eurovent’s participation aims to support manufacturers in delivering standardised and transparent environmental metrics. The partnership also aligns with EU sustainability goals, including those of the EU Green Deal, by promoting energy-efficient and recyclable technologies.
