MRCOOL has launched its TravelCool rooftop heat pump for recreational vehicles, marking the Kentucky-based HVAC company’s first dedicated entry into the RV market. The system provides 15,000 BTU cooling capacity and 10,236 BTU heating capacity and is designed for large coaches and multi-room trailers.
TravelCool uses DC inverter technology and operates at 55 dB in Eco mode and 59 dB in Turbo mode. The rooftop unit is 11 inches (27.9 cm) tall and is available in ducted and ductless configurations.
The system can cool to 63°F (17.2°C) at outdoor temperatures up to 109°F (42.8°C) and heat to 81°F (27.2°C) at temperatures as low as 41°F (5°C). It uses R-32 refrigerant and can be controlled using the included remote, an optional MRDCW wired controller or a smartphone app. Black and white versions are available, and each unit carries a two-year parts warranty.
According to the RV Industry Association’s 2026 Summer Travel Survey cited by MRCOOL, 37 million Americans planned to travel by RV over the summer. RV shipments are forecast to reach 349,000 units in 2026.
