Arneg has reported no evidence of compromise to its remote service management platform or call centre systems following recent cyberattacks targeting refrigeration control systems at grocery retailers in Italy and other European countries. Investigations conducted so far have also found no indication that attackers accessed stores through Arneg’s remote management infrastructure.
The company provides commercial refrigeration equipment, after-sales support, monitoring and remote management services. In Italy, these services cover more than 2,600 stores. Its proprietary platform uses encrypted VPN connections, role-based access controls and tools for logging access and activities.
Arneg’s cybersecurity approach includes ISO/IEC 27001 certification, continuous monitoring and employee training. The company is also strengthening authentication mechanisms, access controls and other technical and organisational security measures.
Arneg said its customer security recommendations align with guidance from Italy’s National Cybersecurity Agency (ACN). These include avoiding direct internet exposure of supervisory systems, using secure VPN connections and separating refrigeration systems from other corporate networks. The company continues to assist customers with access configurations, system updates and security checks while maintaining contact with ACN.
Arneg also advises customers to coordinate changes to remote access connections with its technical teams. Disconnecting these connections may interrupt monitoring and alarm management services. According to the company, available technical analyses have found no evidence of involvement of Arneg systems in the attacks, and monitoring of the situation continues.
