Aligned Data Centers Launches Delta Cube 3.0 with 10% Cooling Gains

Aligned Data Centers has launched Delta Cube 3.0 (Delta³ 3.0), an updated version of its patented air-cooling technology developed in partnership with Munters. Announced on October 28, 2026, the system delivers a 10% increase in cooling capacity and a 10% improvement in energy efficiency while retaining the original unit footprint.

Delta³ 3.0 is a core component of Aligned’s closed-loop cooling system, which requires no water consumption for operational cooling. The technology is designed to support high-density computing environments, including hyperscale, cloud, artificial intelligence (AI), and high-performance computing (HPC) applications. According to Aligned, the improvements reduce cooling energy consumption and contribute to lower overall data center campus power requirements.

The 10% improvement in air-cooling energy efficiency results from engineering modifications to proprietary heat exchangers, supply fan impellers, and drive motors. Munters’ R&D Department assisted in redesigning the unit. The updated architecture also provides streamlined maintenance access for technicians and greater standardized, prefabricated constructability to accelerate deployment.

Aligned states that the system supports increasing rack densities and hybrid-cooled environments without requiring additional physical space. All Delta³ units supplied to the North American market are manufactured in the United States. Munters operates manufacturing facilities in Selma, Texas, and Daleville, Virginia, with a combined workforce of more than 670 employees. Aligned’s Delta³ cooling technology is supported by more than 50 issued patents and over 500 patent claims.

“As compute densities skyrocket, air cooling isn’t going away, it just needs to adapt to ultra-high-density environments. We engineered our new airside solution to deliver meaningful gains in capacity and efficiency within the exact same physical footprint,” said Michael Welch, Chief Technology Officer at Aligned Data Centers.
