Clivet has introduced the VRF CVT9 (CVT9-Y) series of heat pump outdoor units using R32 refrigerant. The series is intended for commercial applications, office buildings, schools, hotels and apartment blocks.
The range includes five sizes—25.2, 28, 33.5, 40 and 45 kW (approximately 86,000, 95,500, 114,300, 136,500 and 153,500 BTU/h)—in a single module. Two modules can be combined to provide up to 90 kW (approximately 307,100 BTU/h).
The units use the EasyCom Bus free-topology communication bus to simplify wiring. Shut-off Valve Boxes and leak sensors compliant with IEC 60335-2-40 stop refrigerant flow in the event of anomalies, supporting indoor-unit installation in small rooms.
An EVI inverter scroll compressor and enlarged-surface heat exchanger provide SCOP values of up to 4.9 and SEER values of up to 8.6. The units are Eurovent certified, while the SafeBox 2 system uses an IP68-rated enclosure to isolate electronic components from rain, dust and humidity.
Based on the V9 platform, the series is compatible with V8 indoor units and control systems. Its operating range extends from -15°C to 55°C (5°F to 131°F) in cooling and from -30°C to 30°C (-22°F to 86°F) in heating. Other features include the EMS2 load-prediction algorithm, MultiSensor technology, native Modbus RTU, an integrated digital ammeter, Bluetooth connectivity, adjustable external-fan static pressure up to 120 Pa (approximately 0.48 in. w.g.) in 20 Pa (approximately 0.08 in. w.g.) increments, silent modes, automatic anti-snow and dust-clean functions, and Duty Cycling options.
Features scheduled for 2027 include direct-current connection to a photovoltaic plant without a dedicated inverter and the option to install outdoor units in technical rooms using the integrated leak sensor.
