At COP31, interactive scenarios will show how equipment choices and refrigerant management can reduce building lifecycle emissions.

Daikin Highlights Inverter ACs, Heat Pumps and Refrigerant Collection

Daikin Industries will highlight three building decarbonization solutions: high-efficiency inverter air conditioners, heat pumps for space and water heating, and refrigerant collection and management. The company says all three solutions are commercially available and can be scaled rapidly.

High-efficiency inverter air conditioners are intended to reduce energy intensity by improving energy efficiency. Daikin will also present the electrification of space and water heating with heat pumps as an approach to reducing fossil fuel use and increasing electricity’s share of energy demand.

The third solution focuses on collecting refrigerant and proper refrigerant management. Daikin will present Japan’s institutional and operational experience in this area alongside energy-efficiency and electrification technologies.

Interactive content will compare CO2 emissions in scenarios where the two technologies and refrigerant collection are adopted with scenarios where they are not. Graphs will change according to conditions selected by visitors to demonstrate potential CO2 reduction benefits and the role of equipment and technology choices in reducing lifecycle emissions from buildings.

Daikin will showcase the solutions at the Japan Pavilion during COP31 in Antalya, Türkiye, from November 9 to 20, 2026. The pavilion is organized by Japan’s Ministry of the Environment.
