Carrier Transicold has released a software upgrade that can reduce fuel consumption by up to 19% on Vector High Efficiency 19 trailer refrigeration units without hardware replacement. The update is available for existing units through more than 800 Carrier Transicold service centres across EMEA and is standard on all new Vector HE 19 systems.
Validated under real-world customer operating conditions, the upgrade recalibrates the unit’s operating system while maintaining temperature control in single- and multi-temperature applications. Its development used extensive, anonymized data from the Lynx Fleet platform.
The update introduces a new engine speed range for start-stop and continuous-mode duty cycles, optimized settings to reduce fuel consumption across operating conditions, and new software logic for daily operation. Carrier Transicold said the refinements build on the Vector HE 19 platform, which delivers up to 30% fuel savings compared with the previous-generation Vector 1950.
“Fuel is one of the most significant and unpredictable costs in long-haul refrigerated transport. This update gives operators a practical way to cut fuel use, without capital investment and with minimal disruption,” said Jean-Pascal Vielfaure, Product Director, International Truck Trailer, Carrier Transicold.
