Daikin Europe has launched the Daikin Altherma 4 H, its first air-to-water heat pump for residential use operating on R-290 (propane) refrigerant. The new system is designed for single-family homes and delivers exceptional heating performance, operating in temperatures as low as -28°C and providing hot water up to 75°C.
Designed for Performance and Energy Efficiency
Rated A+++ for space heating and up to A+ for domestic hot water, the Daikin Altherma 4 H offers low operating costs and high energy efficiency. The system can integrate seamlessly with existing radiator systems, making it a low-carbon alternative to traditional gas boilers for renovation projects.
The largest model in the range, with a capacity of 14 kW, produces a heating output of 13.3 kW even at -7°C ambient temperature and a leaving water temperature of 55°C.
European Production for European Homes
The Daikin Altherma 4 H is designed and manufactured in Europe. Outdoor units are built in Daikin’s new facility in Lodz, Poland, while indoor components are produced in the Czech Republic and Germany. This local production ensures faster delivery, high-quality standards, and improved customer support.
Quiet and User-Friendly
The heat pump operates at a low noise level, reaching just 28 dBA at a distance of 3 meters. For installers, it features ergonomic components and a simplified setup process. End-users benefit from smart controls via the Daikin Onecta app, which allows monitoring of energy consumption and remote adjustment of home temperature settings.
Safety and Training for Installers
To address the flammability of propane (R-290), Daikin has incorporated safety features like a gas separator, anti-freeze valves, and sealed components to ensure safety during transport, installation, and operation. Comprehensive training programs are available for installers through the Stand By Me – Certified Partner platform.
