Danfoss has introduced the iC7-Hybrid 1500 VDC liquid-cooled grid converter for on-grid and off-grid energy applications. The converter combines SiC technology, liquid cooling and built-in grid-forming capabilities, with stated efficiency of 99.2%.
The liquid-cooled design minimizes heat losses to the air and is intended for applications requiring high power density and efficiency. An aluminum frame protects sensitive electronics against vibrations and harsh environmental conditions.
Danfoss says the iC7-Hybrid builds on more than 20 years of experience in grid-forming technology. It can operate in both grid-connected and standalone systems, while fast control loops are designed to address low-inertia network conditions.
The converter is developed in accordance with the IEC 62443-4-2 cybersecurity standard to protect power conversion against unauthorized access.
Danfoss also provides simulation models for grid integration studies. Based on model-based design, the digital twins are intended to remain up to date and accurate and support integration of the iC7-Hybrid into power systems.
