ebm-papst has marked 30 years of operations in China, highlighting the development of its local business from sales to production, research and development, supply chain management, and systems and technology support. The company celebrated the anniversary on September 21 in Shanghai with employees, management, government representatives, customers and business partners.
The company said its development in China follows its “Local for Local” strategy, under which solutions are developed and manufactured where customers need them. According to ebm-papst, this approach shortens development and delivery times and supports resilience to geopolitical uncertainties.
ebm-papst China operates an integrated network covering research and development, manufacturing, logistics and customer support. Its plants in Shanghai, Xi’an and Foshan work together to support customers, while the company’s localization rate in China exceeds 90%.
Efficiency and resource conservation are also part of the company’s local operations. Its Xi’an production plant has been recognized as a “National Green Factory,” and photovoltaic systems installed at the site cover around half of the plant’s electricity demand.
“Customers no longer judge performance based on the technical specifications of a fan alone. Instead, the focus is on energy consumption, reliability and operating costs across the entire system. The rapid growth of AI is raising the requirements for data center cooling while also creating new opportunities for innovation,” said Thomas Nürnberger, Chief Sales Officer of the ebm-papst Group and CEO Air Technology APAC & MEA.
