Nidec has introduced a range of liquid cooling solutions for next-generation data centers, including high-capacity in-rack and in-row coolant distribution units (CDUs), Quick Disconnects (QDs), and Cooling Distribution Manifolds (CDMs). The products will be showcased at Data Center World Asia in Singapore on September 29–30, 2026.
The In-Rack CDU delivers up to 300 kW (approx. 1.02 million BTU/h) of cooling capacity in a 4U footprint. Nidec says the unit uses compact and lightweight technologies developed through its small precision motor manufacturing and has a track record of more than 12,000 units shipped globally.
For higher-capacity applications, the In-Row CDU provides up to 2 MW (approx. 6.82 million BTU/h) of cooling capacity in a space-saving chassis. It is designed for environments ranging from containerized to large-scale data centers and features redundant critical components and a hot-swappable design to support uninterrupted operation.
Nidec will also present its in-house developed QDs, designed to prevent fluid leakage during connection and disconnection, and CDMs featuring low pressure drop to maximize server rack cooling efficiency.
The company says its liquid cooling solutions draw on precision machining and inspection technologies developed through HDD spindle motor manufacturing, combined with its thermal management expertise. Nidec is targeting stable data center operation and reduced energy consumption as it expands its solutions in Southeast Asia.
