DCX Liquid Cooling Systems has introduced a coolant quality monitoring and automatic treatment system integrated into its Facility Coolant Distribution Unit (FDU) family. The Poland-based manufacturer describes it as the world’s first CDU with built-in coolant control and treatment. The technology is designed for hyperscale data centers and high-density AI infrastructure, with heat transfer capacities of up to 8 MW.
The FDU uses inline sensors to continuously monitor coolant parameters, including turbidity, conductivity, pH, glycol concentration, and corrosion rate. Three electronic dosing channels automatically supply corrosion inhibitors, biocides, and pH control additives. The controller maintains pH at a defined set point, logs chemical dosing, and treats fresh make-up fluid in proportion to its volume.
Operators can access coolant quality information through the FDU touchscreen interface, which displays system status and live diagrams of both cooling loops, including pumps, valves, and dosing lines. The system supports PG25 and deionized-water cooling loops. Integrated monitoring and treatment are intended to maintain coolant conditions between scheduled maintenance visits.
The FDU family provides up to 8 MW of heat transfer capacity at a 2 °C (3.6 °F) approach temperature and a 45 °C (113 °F) supply temperature, corresponding to ASHRAE W45/W+. Maximum flow reaches 3,000 GPM (approximately 11,000 L/min), with four pumps arranged in N+N or N+1 configurations. The units can serve an entire AI data hall from outside the white space.
Built-in coolant quality monitoring and automatic treatment are standard across the FDU family and are available immediately for hyperscale and high-density AI projects. “At this scale, the coolant is as critical as the pumps,” said Maciek Szadkowski, CTO of DCX Liquid Cooling Systems.
