MarketsandMarkets forecasts immersion cooling market at $5.78 billion by 2033

Demand from AI, high-performance computing and cryptocurrency mining is expected to drive adoption, with single-phase systems leading.

MarketsandMarkets forecasts immersion cooling market at $5.78 billion by 2033

MarketsandMarkets projects the global immersion cooling market will grow from USD 0.74 billion in 2026 to USD 5.78 billion by 2033, representing a compound annual growth rate of 31.5%. The research firm links growth to increasing use of immersion cooling in high-performance computing, artificial intelligence workloads and cryptocurrency mining.

Immersion cooling involves submerging IT hardware in thermally conductive dielectric fluids. The report divides the technology into single-phase and two-phase systems and projects single-phase immersion cooling to lead the market, supported by demand from cryptocurrency mining and high-performance computing.

By application, high-performance computing is projected to hold a significant market share during the forecast period. MarketsandMarkets says increasing computing hardware density from advanced processors and accelerators is creating challenges for traditional cooling systems, while immersion cooling provides uniform thermal management across compact hardware configurations.

The cooling-fluid categories covered by the report include synthetic fluids, mineral oil, fluorocarbon-based fluids and other fluids. Synthetic fluids are expected to lead the market during the forecast period due to their use in single-phase systems and stated advantages including efficiency, cooling capacity, low maintenance and hardware reliability.

North America is identified as the largest regional market, with adoption linked to its data-center base and technologies including AI and big data. MarketsandMarkets lists LiquidStack (Trane), GRC, Submer, Iceotope, DCX Liquid Cooling Systems, Engineered Fluids, TIEMMERS, GIGA-BYTE Technology, Wiwynn, Hypertec, TAS and Delta Power Solutions among key market players.
