Emergent Cold LatAm to Acquire Facility in Rio de Janeiro

Emergent Cold LatAm to Acquire Facility in Rio de Janeiro

Emergent Cold Latin America (Emergent Cold LatAm), the fastest-growing cold storage logistics operator in Latin America, announced that it signed a definitive agreement to acquire a facility located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to be completed within two months.

The facility is in Duque de Caxias, in the metropolitan area of Rio de Janeiro, an important distribution point for the entire region. It comprises almost 45,000 square meters across two warehouses, plus a dedicated truck yard. Besides its ideal location, the site allows for future investment to add storage capacity and customer offerings. Further, this acquisition will expand Emergent Cold Latam’s Brazil network into Rio de Janeiro, Brazil’s second largest city and an important part of the country’s food supply chain.

“We look forward to closing this transaction and growing our network in Brasil” said Neal Rider, CEO of Emergent Cold LatAm. “Rio de Janeiro is an important market for our customers, and we are pleased to acquire an asset that we believe to be the highest quality and in the best location in the region.”

Case Study – Effect of Louvers or diffusers on air flow distribution and cooling time on a meat log during Chill cycle

By Kushal Aurangabadkar An experimental analysis was conducted on a cooler space measuring 3.66 m × 6.096 m (12.0 ft × 20.0 ft), equipped with an ammonia refrigeration coil, five 30 cm (12 in.) fans, and five diffusers. The study measured airflow patterns, cooling rates, and heat transfer efficiency in meat storage by testing two configurations:

Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for Modular Refrigeration Systems in Life Sciences Distribution Centers

by Ramez Naguib, P.E. Introduction Life sciences distribution centers are under immense pressure to deliver consistent temperature control, comply with increasingly stringent regulations, and optimize operational efficiency. Traditional built-up refrigeration systems often prove cumbersome, costly, and slow to implement. In contrast, modular, factory-assembled refrigeration systems have emerged as a compelling alternative. Drawing on lessons from
