The Global Cooling Pledge Assembly 2026 will take place from 15–18 September in Singapore, bringing together Pledge signatory countries, cities, industry leaders, development finance institutions and technical partners. The event aims to accelerate the deployment of sustainable cooling solutions and strengthen collaboration.
Launched at COP28 in 2023, the Global Cooling Pledge unites about 75 countries and 70 non-state actors around an objective to reduce cooling-related emissions by 68% by 2050 while ensuring equitable access to sustainable cooling. Its Sustainable Cooling Pathway combines passive cooling, low-energy solutions, highly energy-efficient technologies and climate-friendly refrigerants.
The Assembly aims to bridge the gap between commitment and delivery by connecting governments with industry, financing and implementation partners. Activities will include facilitating access to technical and financial support mechanisms, including the EPIC Facility, and showcasing scalable solutions and delivery pathways. The Cool Leaders initiative will also be introduced to showcase leadership and concrete implementation.
Members of the Intergovernmental Committee on Cooling (IGCC) will hold their first formal meeting during the Assembly. The IGCC was formally adopted at COP30 in Belém, Brazil, as the governing body responsible for tracking and guiding delivery of the Pledge.
The meeting will allow signatory governments to take stock of progress, strengthen coordination and advance implementation of Pledge commitments. The Global Cooling Pledge Focal Points Meeting will take place within the Assembly as this first formal meeting of IGCC members.
