Enhanced PyroPlas refrigerant destruction technology from A-Gas will soon be available in Australia and New Zealand. New staff have been recruited and the company is poised to roll out the latest PyroPlas technology under A-Gas ownership for the first time in the Asia-Pacific region. Customers in Australia and New Zealand will be able to use proven destruction technology designed and built in their own backyard.
This newly-developed equipment will be able to deal effectively with halons, hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) and mixtures of all previous generations of used refrigerant, as well as an increase in the prevalence of flammables.
For more than a decade A-Gas has operated PyroPlas technology to successfully and safely destroy thousands of tons of ozone-depleting substances at its Bowling Green facility in the USA. This United Nations approved, TEAP-certified technology, delivers the industry’s highest guaranteed and proven destruction efficiency at a minimum of 99.9999 per cent.
It’s just over a year since A-Gas announced the acquisition of PyroPlas to expand its global lifecycle refrigerant management capabilities. The A-Gas team has taken time to develop the new equipment to give it a wider range of destruction capabilities.
A-Gas Group Commercial Director Louise McCann said: “With the further development of PyroPlas units we are proud to offer the most complete refrigerant management capability in the world. We are committed to bringing this technology to the Asia-Pacific region to provide end of life destruction services to our customers.”
A-Gas has been operating in Australia since 1995 and started trading in New Zealand in 2018. A-Gas also has a growing business in Asia with operations in Singapore and Japan which are considered hubs for activity within this region.
Through its investment in PyroPlas A-Gas will continue to grow its footprint across Asia-Pacific and beyond by supporting responsible refrigerant recovery practices for the purposes of reclamation or destruction.
