ACCA Peer Networking Group Makes Pledge to America's Workers

The Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) announces that ACCA’s Management Information Exchange (MIX) Group, the Bottom Liners joined the White House's Pledge to America’s Workers, an initiative launched by President Trump on July 19, 2018 and spearheaded by Advisor to the President, Ivanka Trump.

The ACCA MIX Group program is the ultimate platform for contractor-to-contractor networking and information exchange that helps HVAC businesses succeed. The goal of MIX Group meetings is to help ACCA members improve their HVAC businesses by getting honest and frank counsel from non-competing peers.

The Pledge to America’s Workers is a national workforce development initiative that encourages businesses to invest in students and workers. Businesses participating in the pledge commit to producing enhanced career opportunities through increased apprenticeships, continuing education, on-the-job-training, and re-skilling.

ACCA joined President Trump and his Administration on July 25, 2019 for the One-Year Anniversary of the Pledge to America's Workers and pledged to create 75,000 opportunities for America’s workers on behalf of ACCA members. To date, 31 ACCA contractor members have independently pledged to create a total of 4,588 opportunities for their workforces. ACCA members that make the commitment to America’s workers, receive complimentary Quality Installation education programs through ACCA’s online learning platform – Qtech.

On October 9, 2019, ACCA staff attended the Bottom Liners MIX Group where each member signed the Pledge to America’s Workers. “The Bottom Liners MIX Group is proud to take the Pledge to America’s Workers with ACCA,” said, Winston Hancock, meeting host and President of Gilman Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing in Ashland, Virginia. “As part of ACCA’s pledge of 75,000, the Bottom Liners MIX Group is committed to creating educational and career advancement opportunities for 405 workers. This initiative is very important to the contracting industry because it helps us promote the rewarding careers available in the skilled trades. We are thankful for the Trump Administration’s support of the skilled trades and pleased to work with ACCA on workforce development issues, which is a top priority for ACCA."

In addition to Winston Hancock, other Bottom Liners that signed the pledge include; Bob Champe, Shearer Heating & A/C, Washington, PA; Lucas Novak, San Marcos Air, San Marcos, TX; David Rotan, D&D Plumbing Heat & A/C, Midland, TX; Joseph Roberts, Joseph H. Roberts, Inc., Forked River, NJ; Michael Smith, Pioneer Comfort Systems, Shreveport, LA; Cody Novini, SoCal Airflow Pros, Mission Viejo, CA; Glenn Robert, Custom Mechanical, Bethany Beach, DE.

ACCA President and CEO Bart James stated, “It is great to see ACCA members, and an entire MIX Group, join ACCA to support these important workforce development initiatives. ACCA is proud to lead the contracting industry’s efforts to promote rewarding career opportunities in the skilled trades and we thank the Trump Administration for their national focus on this most important issue. ACCA looks forward to catalyzing more pledges from ACCA members and providing career development resources for their employees.”
