AREA Cooling Solutions is marking its 40th anniversary in 2026, highlighting four decades of supplying compressors, controls and refrigeration components to HVAC-R professionals. Founded in 1986 in Barcelona, Spain, the company serves commercial refrigeration, air conditioning, heat pump and advanced cooling applications.
AREA expanded into Poland in 1995 and launched Areacademy in 2019 as an interactive knowledge and technical support platform for HVAC-R professionals. In 2024, the company joined IPCOM Group, a European value-added distributor focused on energy efficiency solutions.
The company’s portfolio includes hermetic scroll, rotary and piston compressors, semi-hermetic screw compressors, inverter drives, fans, motors and controls. Its solutions support refrigerants including CO2, R290, A2L types, R32, R513A, R455A, R454C, R410A, R134A, R448A and R454B.
AREA says its current priorities include inverter technology, energy efficiency, low-GWP refrigerants and natural refrigerants such as CO2 and R290. The company supports OEMs, manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors, contractors, installers, engineering companies and end-users with component selection, refrigerant compatibility, system optimisation, documentation and spare parts.
AREA operates logistics capabilities in Spain and Poland and provides technical support in multiple languages. The company reports more than 1,200 catalogue products, over 30 multilingual employees, more than 20,000 orders delivered during the past five years and more than 800 customers served annually.
