Carrier and Women in HVACR award $55,000 in scholarships to support women in trades

Carrier Global Corporation and the nonprofit organization Women in HVACR have jointly awarded 11 scholarships to female students pursuing careers in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR). The announcement was made during the 2025 Women in HVACR Conference in Las Vegas.

Each recipient received a $5,000 scholarship in recognition of academic achievement, leadership potential and commitment to advancing diversity in the skilled trades. Six scholarships were presented directly by Women in HVACR, and five were awarded through a partnership with Carrier, totaling $55,000.

The recipients are Kristine Berg, Hannah Dearman-So, Ashley Haynes, Sarah Kitchen, Beyonca Mack, Alerry McCarthy, Aya Morgan, Samantha Murphy, Mahek Parvez, Lila Tychsen and Sophia Valenzuela. The honorees come from diverse educational and professional backgrounds, including technical colleges, universities and trade schools, and share a commitment to promoting sustainability and expanding opportunities for women in HVACR.

"These scholarships represent more than financial assistance; they are an investment in the future of our industry," said Kristin Gallup, President of Women in HVACR. "Each recipient has shown the drive, talent and vision to lead the future of HVACR, and their contributions will help shape the next generation of innovators in the field."

According to Gallup, the scholarship initiative supports education and mentorship as a means to strengthen the HVACR workforce and contribute to national sustainability goals.
