Daikin has acquired Swedish residential heat pump service provider Kylslaget, further expanding its service network across Sweden. The acquisition, finalized today, will increase the number of qualified technicians and support the growth of Daikin’s service expert training programs in the country.
This move follows Daikin’s recent acquisition of BKF Klima in Denmark earlier in 2024, reinforcing the company’s long-term growth strategy in Scandinavia. Daikin has steadily built its regional presence with the establishment of Daikin Sweden in 2008, followed by operations in Norway (2018), Finland (2018), and Denmark (2024).
The acquisition supports Daikin’s leading position in the European HVAC-R market by strengthening its operations in Sweden, one of the continent’s most developed residential heat pump markets.
Sweden has a strong adoption rate of residential heat pumps, with approximately 437 units per 1,000 households, making it one of the highest concentrations in Europe. The market is driven by the favorable electricity-to-gas price ratio of 1.22 and a continued focus on replacing older systems with energy-efficient solutions. Heat pumps, which use electricity to extract renewable energy from the environment, offer both economic and environmental benefits, supporting national and EU decarbonisation targets.
Daikin sees this acquisition as key to ensuring quality service alongside high-performance products. By integrating Kylslaget’s resources, Daikin will expand both residential and professional service capabilities in Sweden.
Kylslaget is recognized for its wide coverage and advanced training infrastructure, operating in major regions including Stockholm, Göteborg, and Malmö. The company has built a service capacity that reaches 95% of Swedish households.
“Kylslaget can serve 95% of Swedish households thanks to their presence in key areas around Stockholm, Göteborg and Malmö. They have built extensive service capacity and have created an outstanding training program for technicians. We look forward to exchanging our joint technological HVAC-R expertise and utilise their experience to further build out our nationwide service organisation in Sweden,” said Stéphane Cupani, Managing Director at Daikin Sweden.
