ECOOLTEC appoints Cosimo D’Alconzo as Country Manager for Italy

ECOOLTEC Grosskopf GmbH has named Cosimo D’Alconzo as its new Country Manager Italy as part of its continued European expansion strategy. The appointment marks the next phase in establishing sales and service structures in Italy for the company’s fully electric and sustainable transport refrigeration units.

D’Alconzo, a veteran in trailer sales and refrigerated vehicle manufacturing, brings extensive experience in the Italian and international markets. His initial focus will be on developing ECOOLTEC’s presence in Italy, including collaboration with local vehicle body builders, aiming to offer ECOOLTEC units to Italian operators by the end of the year.

The company’s TM182 transport refrigeration system is designed for fully electric operation and uses only natural refrigerants, offering an alternative to traditional systems reliant on F-gas-based refrigerants. These features align with Italy’s climate demands and regulatory context, particularly under the EU F-Gas Regulation.

"Our efficient and powerful transport refrigeration systems are ideal for the demanding conditions associated with distributing refrigerated products in hot countries," said Henning Altebäumer, CEO of ECOOLTEC. "They have already demonstrated their capabilities in other European markets."

D’Alconzo added: "Italian fleet operators are very environmentally conscious and already rely on purely electric transport refrigeration systems that do not emit any pollutants locally. Our systems can be operated particularly economically and environmentally friendly using our in-house alternator."

ECOOLTEC’s technology enables battery-powered or alternator-driven operation without a diesel engine. The company uses natural refrigerants with low GWP values—GWP 3 and GWP 1—offering up to 98% fewer emissions compared to traditional diesel units, along with 60% lower energy consumption for equivalent cooling capacity.
