EU Ambassadors Visit Danfoss Turbocor Facility in Florida

On November 4, Danfoss welcomed 20 ambassadors from European Union member states to its Turbocor facility in Tallahassee, Florida, highlighting the company’s investment in U.S. manufacturing and sustainable cooling technologies.

The visit, led by Jesper Moller Sorensen, Ambassador of Denmark to the U.S., coincided with Denmark’s current presidency of the EU27. The delegation toured the 145,000 sq ft (approx. 13,470 m²) manufacturing plant and the advanced Application Development Center, gaining insight into Danfoss’ operations in the U.S., particularly its role in the growing data center market.

Rogerio Federici, Vice President of Danfoss Turbocor, noted the increasing demand for efficient cooling in data centers due to artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure growth. “Our oil-free, magnetic-bearing compressor technology helps data centers meet uptime requirements while significantly reducing energy consumption, cost, strains on the power grid and greenhouse gas emissions,” he said.

Danfoss’ U.S. footprint includes more than 30 factories and three Application Development Centers. Approximately 80% of its U.S.-produced goods are sold domestically, reflecting the company’s commitment to local manufacturing.

Ambassador Sorensen commented, “Danfoss is an amazing company providing unique solutions to the American market. The economic partnership between the U.S. and Denmark is both critical and working with our Floridian counterparts and creating mutual opportunities is a priority for me as ambassador of Denmark to the U.S.”

The event also included participation from the Florida Secretary of Commerce, the president of The National High Magnetic Field Laboratory, and the president of Florida State University.
