Frascold updates FSS3 software with new compressor options

Frascold has released version 1.26.0 of its Frascold Selection Software (FSS3), adding refrigerant options, compressor series, calculation settings and performance updates for reciprocating and screw compressors.

For reciprocating compressors, the update adds models with extended operating envelopes for R1234ze, R515B and R600a. It also extends the R404A range to condensation temperatures of up to 60°C (140°F).

The software now includes performance data for Single Stage piston compressors with R23 and can simulate an Internal Heat Exchanger downstream of the evaporator for these models. Drawings have been updated for the Subcritical CO2 Series and for D, Q and S sizes in the Transcritical CO2 Heavy Duty series. New Selection Calculation mode settings have also been added to the CO2 Calculator Software.

For screw compressors, version 1.26.0 introduces the NEXUS series for R600, R600a, R601a and R1233zd, covering 316–912 m3/h at 50 Hz (approximately 186–537 cfm). It also adds the Aluminium-L series for R717, covering 315–470 m3/h at 50 Hz (approximately 185–277 cfm).

The release extends the R454C application envelope for the FVR-LT compressor series and improves the performance calculation algorithm with an economiser. Frascold has also updated documentation links in the INFO > Documentation tab and improved overall software performance.
