Frigoglass launches commercial cooler production line in Egypt

Frigoglass Group has announced the production of its first commercial cooler from a new production line in Egypt, marking a key step in the company’s growth strategy for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

The first unit, a Coca-Cola branded cooler bearing serial number 0001, was produced at the newly operational facility in Cairo. The production line was established through a collaboration with Fresh Electric, an Egyptian home appliance manufacturer with nearly 40 years of experience.

The new facility is the result of a strategic partnership announced in October 2024, enabling Frigoglass to begin local manufacturing at Fresh’s premises. This move aims to support faster delivery, improved operational flexibility, and more efficient distribution across Egypt and the wider MENA region, which includes over 100 million consumers.

“In less than seven months, we've managed to turn an ambitious plan into a reality,” said Serge Joris, CEO of Frigoglass Group. “Local production brings Frigoglass closer to its customers, offering innovative and energy-efficient solutions with greater speed and flexibility.”

Ramy Mounir, CEO of Fresh S.A.E.’s Cooling Sector and member of the Frigoglass Group Board, added: “The start of production is a truly momentous occasion for all of us. With our extensive experience and the support of our team in Egypt, we are thrilled to contribute to Frigoglass's successful entry into the local market.”

Frigoglass also plans to open a Frigoserve hub in Cairo to offer Asset Performance Services and regional customer support. The group currently operates five production facilities and 18 Frigoserve centers across Europe, Asia, and Africa.
