Prompt action by Green Point UK ensured that critical cooling at a major UK data centre was maintained after several chillers at the site failed. The loss of cooling capacity left the data centre vulnerable to spikes in ambient temperatures or increased server usage, which could have overwhelmed the remaining cooling systems and caused severe consequences.

Will Pribyl, General Manager of Green Point UK, explained the urgency of the situation: "Due to system issues, a number of chillers on site had gone down, leaving the data centre at risk. Immediate action was necessary to ensure continuous cooling, putting pressure on the on-site contractor to resolve the problem."

Green Point UK was contacted for its proactive approach and ability to guarantee the remanufacture of compressors, regardless of their condition. The company expedited the full strip-down and remanufacture of five BITZER CSH95111 and CSH95113 semi-hermetic screw compressors. These compressors are optimized for data centre cooling and air-cooled liquid chillers in UK conditions.

The upgrades included replacing the original float type oil-level management control with an optical sensor, providing contactless oil-level monitoring and ensuring optimal lubrication at all times.
