Johnson Controls has appointed Susan Hughes as vice president and president of its Asia Pacific region. Effective end of February, Hughes will succeed Anu Rathninde and report directly to CEO Joakim Weidemanis. She will also join the company’s executive committee.
The company highlighted the Asia Pacific region as a key growth area, noting Hughes’s experience in leadership, operations, and customer engagement across the region.
Hughes brings over 20 years of experience, including leadership roles at Emerson, where she most recently served as President of Asia Pacific for Emerson Automation Solutions. Her background spans sales, marketing, service, engineering, and manufacturing.
She holds an MBA from Washington University’s Olin School of Business and bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and Mandarin Chinese from Grinnell College.
“With her deep expertise in the region and strong record of leading teams, operations and customer engagement across the region, Susan is well positioned to strengthen our execution,” said CEO Joakim Weidemanis.
