Marel acquired MAJA

On July 25, 2018 Marel announced that the company had entered into an agreement to acquire the German food processing equipment and ice makers manufacturer MAJA. Anti-trust authorities have approved the acquisition and closing conditions have been satisfied. The transaction was finalized on August 14, 2018.

The MAJA acquisition strengthens Marel’s global market presence and is in line with the company’s strategic objective to be a full-line supplier of advanced processing equipment and solutions to the food processing industry.

With MAJA’s innovative product offering and complementary geographical reach, Marel is better positioned to advance market penetration and offer full-line solutions to the meat industry globally. Together, the companies will focus on delivering innovation and value to customers worldwide.
