Sanhua unveils integrated component packages for natural refrigerants

Sanhua has introduced a new strategic roadmap for 2025–2030 focused on natural refrigerants and integrated component packages, aiming to support OEMs and contractors in commercial refrigeration across Europe. The approach responds to regulatory developments, including EU Regulation 2024/573 on F-gases and potential PFAS restrictions, by offering certified solutions based on R290 (propane) and CO₂.

The strategy centers on complete, application-specific packages that include coordinated and certified components—such as expansion valves, sensors, exchangers, and controllers—designed to simplify design, testing, and approval processes. These packages are optimized for plug-in cabinets, condensing units, waterloop systems, and mini-rack applications. Sanhua emphasizes that it remains solely a component supplier, not a system manufacturer, in order to maintain a neutral technical partnership with OEMs.

For R290 plug-in systems, Sanhua now supplies over 90% of required components, all certified according to PED and CEI EN 60335 standards, including EN 60730-2-89 for electrical safety. In the waterloop segment, modular packages are available in Basic, Smart, and Plus configurations, with evolving electronics compatible with major European protocols.

The company is also advancing its CO₂ offerings. It currently provides key components—such as PEV valves with PWM modulation, microchannel and brazed heat exchangers, and bidirectional ball valves—for CO₂ condensing units up to 40 kW. Sanhua aims to expand coverage to 100 kW transcritical applications by 2026.

“Our goal is to offer stable, compliant, and future-proof solutions,” said Federico Bisco, Technical Director of Sanhua Europe. “We focus on improving integration and reducing complexity, allowing OEMs to shorten development times and improve cost efficiency without compromising safety or reliability.”
