Advanced Charging Technologies (ACT), based in the United States, has introduced Polarlink, a connected electric power source designed for transport refrigeration units (TRUs). The system enables fleets to reduce diesel consumption, lower operating costs, and extend equipment life during idle operation.
Polarlink delivers up to 25 kW of output power (30 A max) to support continuous electric operation of refrigerated trailers when parked. It is housed in a NEMA 3R-rated weatherproof enclosure, designed for reliable performance in harsh conditions ranging from –40°C to +50°C. The unit is suitable for use at distribution centers, cold-chain hubs, and logistics yards.
Equipped with cloud and cellular connectivity, Polarlink integrates with ACTview, ACT's monitoring platform. This allows operators to remotely track energy usage, access automated reports, and manage billing. These features support cost recovery and operational efficiency for fleet operators.
The system is available with cable lengths of 15 ft, 25 ft, and 50 ft, and features a Meltric DSN30 connector for TRU compatibility.
"Polarlink delivers the reliability refrigerated operations require," said Michael K. Nelson, President of ACT. "It provides a connected power source that eliminates diesel use during idle operation, parking, supports continuous performance, and enhances operational efficiency for fleets."
