Alfa Laval has launched TS45, its largest semi-welded plate heat exchanger to date, designed for high-capacity, high-pressure heat transfer in energy transition, industrial and energy efficiency applications.
The company says TS45 extends its semi-welded portfolio into duties traditionally served by shell-and-tube technologies. The unit is intended to help customers scale up heat transfer performance while maintaining a compact footprint, high energy efficiency and full serviceability.
TS45 is designed for demanding applications including industrial heat pumps, energy storage, carbon capture and sulphuric acid production, where robustness, reliability and efficiency are critical.
The heat exchanger combines Alfa Laval’s semi-welded cassette technology with an extra-large plate format. According to the company, the design offers high design pressure, significantly increased capacity and reduced installation footprint, supporting lower operating costs and improved efficiency.
“With TS45, we are redefining what semi welded plate heat exchangers can deliver at scale,” says Madeleine Gilborne, President Gasketed Plate Heat Exchangers, Alfa Laval. “It allows our customers to improve efficiency and decarbonize large industrial processes - while maintaining the flexibility and serviceability they expect”
TS45 is available from Q2 2026.
