BOCK expands its portfolio of transcritical CO2 compressors with two new products

BOCK extends its transcritical compressor portfolio for the refrigerant R744 (CO2) by a new series with LSPM motor technology (Line Start Permanent Magnet).

Also available immediately is the BOCK flexxCO2NTROL technology: a new, efficient compressor capacity regulator that allows the capacity of transcritical BOCK CO2 compressors to be adjusted almost stepless to the current capacity requirements of the system. Both for the transcritical BOCK CO2 compressor series and for the new series with LSPM motors.

New BOCK Series: Transcritical CO2 Compressors with LSPM Motors

The LSPM compressors for use in refrigeration and heat pump systems combine the strengths of robust squirrel-cage asynchronous motors and those of synchronously running permanent magnet motors.

After asynchronous starting, the motor synchronizes to the operating frequency and then runs in synchronous mode without slippage. This simultaneous motor running achieves a higher refrigerant mass flow with an optimized speed and thus more cooling or heating capacity. Since there are no power losses in the rotor, the motor and overall compressor efficiency is increased - by an average of about 6 percent compared to a standard asynchronous motor.

BOCK offers the new transcritical product range with LSPM motors in three compressor sizes with a total of 16 displacement stages from 4.8 to 39.5 m³/h (50 Hz/1,500 rpm).

BOCK FLEXXCO2NTROL: New Capacity Regulator Technology for Bock CO2 Compressors

With the digital capacity regulator DCR22 CO2 the capacity of transcritical BOCK CO2 compressors can be adjusted almost stepless to the current capacity requirement of the system.

Depending on the operating conditions, the regulation covers an extraordinary range between 100 percent and 25 percent capacity. This ensures great economic and technical advantages, especially in application areas with strongly fluctuating power requirements, such as in many industrial process or supermarket applications.

With the digital capacity regulator DCR22 CO2 the first product solution from the system family BOCK flexxCO2NTROL will be available from 09. June 2022.
